Ces Drilon captors still ask for ‘pasa load’
MANILA, Philippines – I immensely enjoyed my interview/bonding time with my V.S. (Vagina Sister) Ces Drilon for my daily show with IC, “Chikalectric” on Viva Cinema Channel. “V.S.” has become our term of endearment after our stint in “Vagina Monologues” in 2003.
It was the first time we saw each other since her captivity in Sulu, although we’ve been in touch after her release by the Abu Sayyaf.
Has Ces fully recovered from her harrowing kidnap experience? “Thank God, I’m OK now,” she said, “though I gained back the pounds I lost during my captivity. Losing weight was the only good thing that happened to me during that traumatic time.”
She’s now writing a book about her ordeal, which she plans to release in June (exactly a year after the incident).
“It made me realize that life is indeed short,” she mused. “I’m still willing to go back to Mindanao. I want to know what drives them to do such bizarre things.”
Her close call with death during her captivity has prompted her to do a weekly 45-minute docu-drama show, “I Survived!” (Thursdays after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN). Ces will interact with people who lived through life-threatening circumstances such as disasters, crime, accidents, and adventures.
“I feature survivors of near-death encounters,” she said. “We do a reenactment of the tragedy they went through.”
Is she still in touch with her captors? “Would you believe they text me asking for pasa load? ... (Laughs.)”
The load is now off her back as she reaches out to other “survivors” in her show. Kudos to you, V.S. You not only survived. You prevailed. You’re truly the winner in the survival of the “fiercest.”
Unsettled debt
Pop singer Nina says ex-BF Nyoy Volante hasn’t settled his huge debt to her. “It’s bad enough that he hasn’t paid me. All his post-dated checks bounced,” she reveals.
“Worse, he hasn’t even bothered to communicate with me. I plan to sue him.”
Sad that a million pesos can ruin everything between two people who used to be one in a million to each other.
New game show
Kris Aquino hosts the biggest game show on ABS-CBN, “Pinoy Bingo Night,” which premiers tonight after “Hot Shot” on Primetime Bida. Joining her are Mel Feliciano as “commissioner” and Brod Pete as the “bingo caller.”
On weeknights, 402 studio players vie for over P2M inside the “most hi-tech set in the history of game shows in the country.” Home viewers can also win instant prizes. To join, register at http://pbn.abs-cbn.com or via SMS by keying in PBN, last name, first name/age/gender/ address and send to 2366. Entries with the same info may also be dropped at the ABS-CBN compound.
It’s time for Bingo a la Aquino!
